Indore, Nov 17 ( The Street Press India) – Kailash Vijayvargiya, who is the BJP general secretary and a candidate from the Indore-1 constituency, voted on Friday. He confidently stated that the BJP is set to keep control in the state by winning over 150 seats out of the 230 assembly seats.
Before casting his vote at a “smart” polling booth in a government college, Vijayvargiya offered prayers at his Nandanagar home.
Vijayvargiya is competing against the current Congress MLA Sanjay Shukla in the Indore-1 constituency.
After casting his vote, the BJP leader shared with reporters, “We are going to form the government once again by winning more than 150 seats in the state.” He emphasized the importance of maximum voter turnout, especially in urban areas, to strengthen democracy.
Voting commenced at 7 am across all 230 constituencies in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh, including 47 reserved for ST and 35 for the SC, as reported by an official earlier.
A total of 5,60,58,521 voters, comprising 2,87,82,261 males, 2,71,99,586 females, and 1,292 third-gender persons, are eligible to cast their votes. This figure includes service and overseas electors, as mentioned by the official.
There are a total of 2,533 candidates from political parties and independents competing for seats in the state assembly, with 2,280 males, 252 females, and one third-gender person in the fray.
