Sporadic Rain Disrupts Daily Routine in Kolkata and Southern Bengal Districts

Kolkata, Dec 07 (The Street Press India) – On Thursday morning, folks in Calcutta and nearby areas experienced on-and-off rain and chilly winds, causing some disruptions to their usual routine.

The weather forecast predicts mostly cloudy skies with light to moderate rain in East India until Friday morning. This is due to Cyclonic Storm Michaung weakening into a less marked low-pressure area over Chhattisgarh, according to the Meteorological Department.

Thursday morning brought intermittent rain and a brisk, chilly wind to Calcutta and other districts in South Bengal, offering residents their initial taste of winter this season.

Commute challenges arose as some areas in the city and adjacent Salt Lake experienced traffic snarls, making it difficult for people to get to work.

Due to cloudy conditions, the minimum temperature in the city was three notches above normal at 19.9 degrees Celsius on Thursday, according to the Meteorological Department. Despite this, the maximum temperature is expected to stay well below normal due to prevailing weather conditions.
